For Jaybhan Singh Khairwar (village Jamghadi) the Mahan forest holds a very important place in his life. The forest provides multitudes of supports –like dry wood used in construction of houses and mahua for oil and many other edible purposes. The invaluable knowledge about medicinal herbs has been passed on for generations, to the next. The people here work hard, live happy lives, love living with the forest. Jaybhan concludes that people will never comply with the demands of any mining company asking them to leave their forest (Post Jamghadi, district Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh).
