Anita Kushwaha (village Budher, post Jammghadi, Tehsil Sarai, Dist- Singrauli):

“A school is being constructed by our Grampanchayat in which they are using fresh forest wood from Mahan forest. This wood is being chopped by Deputy Forest Ranger, Forest beat Guard and Budher’s village Sarpanch. We, 10 women went to stop them from cutting the forest. Denying us, they said, ‘do whatever you want to do. We’ll continue.’ When I was clicking photo of the happenings, they even threatened me to kill!  They are also using under 18 children for cutting woods from forest.

I appeal to the listeners to take this issue up to Women and Child Development Department  and Forest Department to initiate just action.”
